Just take a look at this beauty. Posters this good speak for themselves. Then look a little bit closer at the names — particularly, Tom Noonan — star of my favorite Hannibal Lecter film, Manhunter. Before examining the trailer, we already have a recipe for success.
While the Italian horror aesthetic of the poster is tremendous, the film looks to have a great deal of potential as well. The film deals with 1980′s college student Samantha Hughes, who “takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual. ”
In a strange marketing move, the film will be first released on Amazon and Xbox Live on October 1st of this year, with a theatrical release scheduled for October 30th.
The film is directed by Ti West, who helmed the Cabin Fever sequel (which I haven’t yet seen). Take a look at the trailer below, and cross your fingers we have a horror classic on our hands.
