Greed is Good. Sex is Easy. Youth is Forever.
What can be said about 1983, well I was 5 years old and don’t recall too much. But I must say that as soon as I was old enough a certain genre of films were encapsulating my life. The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the like made that era what it is today.
With the new film The Informers, it all came rushing back. Albeit, The Informers is more of an adult movie, but the soundtrack, the look, the collars, the cars, the big hair, it all grabs you and throws you back to those days of being a teenager.
The Informers is a drama that is set over the course of a week in 1983, in the chillingly nihilistic world of author Bret Easton Ellis’ youth in Los Angeles. Seven storylines intersect, involving movie execs, rock stars, a vampire and other morally challenged characters.
