The Wrong Guess – Box Office Predictions for June 26-28, 2009

This is one of those weeks where what happened last week doesn’t matter, what the Top 5 will do doesn’t matter, and Michael Bay gets to count all his money. Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen is going to storm in, kill everything, and destroy all competition. If this topples what The Dark Knight did last year, all hope for quality blockbusters will be lost.

If I had my way….this would happen:

1. The Hurt Locker $224M
2. Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen $142M
3. The Proposal $19M
4. The Hangover $15M
5. Up $12M

Instead, we’re likely going to get this:

1. Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen $121M (weekend. Total = $210M)
2. The Proposal $17M
3. The Hangover $14M
4. Up $11M
5. My Sister’s Keeper $9M
