Theaters to get new way to crack down on piracy

Piracy Kills

Piracy Kills

Studios have new anti-piracy technology that will render employees using night-vision goggles to spot cameras useless. The technology places a watermark on the film when a camera has been spotted in a theater. When the film is played back, a system indicates the seat that was being used while the bootlegging was going on. The website TorrentFreak has stated that a database would need to be created that has information about who is in every seat.

That database thing could also be used to catch people who sneak into other movies. This may work for some time but someone is going to find a way around it like always. If Hollywood would stop putting out stuff like “Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li” and “The Spirit” and make good films they wouldn’t have such a problem with piracy. If you make good movies they will pay.
