Thor Gets More
The casting continues for the Marvel comic book adaptation as Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore join in Thor. Alexander throws herself in as Sif, a skilled Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man. She also is one of Thor’s loves. Feore on the other hand is only rumored to become a villain, although no sources have confirmed the notion.
The movie’s story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions re-ignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth (THR).
The two actors are the latest in the expanding casting list which already includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Natalie Portman. The project, being directed by veteran actor Kenneth Branagh, will begin shooting in early January of next year. Ashley Miller, Zak Stentz and Mark Protosevich penned the script with Kevin Feige producing.
Currently Marvel has several projects being developed and in production. Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Farveau and starring Robert Downey Jr, comes out May 7th, 2010. Also in development are films around Ant Man and Captain America which will lead up to the well planned Avengers movie set for a TBA 2012 release.
