TNT drops the gavel on “Raising the Bar”

Raising-The-Bar

TNT has canceled the legal drama “Raising the Bar.”

The ratings-challenged show, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and produced by Steven Bochco, premiered in 2008 to a strong start (7.7 million). The cable network renewed it for a 15-episode second season in June, but only debuted to 3.6 million people and was unable to sustain its audience.

“Unfortunately, ratings for ‘Raising the Bar’s’ second season did not reach the levels required for TNT to renew the series,” the network commented in a statement.

Only 12 episodes have aired so far this season. TNT has not announced plans to air the remaining three episodes.

There’s still no decision on another TNT drama that awaits sentencing, “Dark Blue.”
