Written by Nathan | Posted January 3, 2009 – 2:38 am Top 10 Television Shows of 2008

2008 can be said to be a year plagued by tragedy, disappointment and shame. Just like at the movies, the small screen in general didn’t exactly shine this year. Very few movies could even be considered watchable and many shows…

Twilight Soundtrack is released…who cares??

So what is the big fuss about this movie? The Soundtrack is garnering a solid following already and the Twilight Trailer has been viewed over 5 million times on my space alone. I guess there are a lot of goth vampire freaks out there in myspace land. Honestly I don’t get the whole myspace thing but oh well.

Twilight is the 1st in a series of books written by Stephenie Meyer and has become a underground phenomenon that is soon to become mainstream. I do have to admit when trying to find a new book to read I pondered on Twilight prior to any announcement of a movie or what not. I put it back and opted for something more sound.

I am a very vampire loving geek, but this looks like a teen crush type of flick to me. I won’t fully judge this without seeing the movie or at least picking up the book. With that said my new flavor of the month is True Blood, I must say is a guilty pleasure, and one of my favorite movies of my childhood would without a doubt be The Lost Boys!

Twilight will hit theaters November 21st and we will see a many theater full to the brim with little teenage girls.

Listen to the Twilight Soundtrack here.

If you love True Blood, then you most definitely like Twilight.
There are a few plot parallels, but they have different flavors.
Don’t let your biases get in the way of your new fandom! ;)

  2. Thanks Roxie for the vote of confidence that I will like it. I am not against the film by any means, it just looks very teenager to me. I like True Blood because they can be “adult” about things. It seems that maybe Twilight could be more if it maybe were an R. But again I won’t have any bias prior to screening the film.

Well, Twilight’s main characters ARE teenagers (or pretending to be), but it doesn’t shy away from the hormones. That was one of the questions I had when reading it…how would the author get navigate that territory? I think she pulled it off in a rather clever, non-sterotypical way. Bella is NOT Edward’s morality police, which is extremely refreshing to me.

It *IS* a purposefully (sp) over the top love story (romeo & juliet), so just keep that in mind. The Vamping is awesome though.

True Blood is more adult in a variety of ways, but I think Twilight is a rather enjoyable story too!

  4. Thanks for the heads up!!

It’s a love story–not a “teen crush movie”. Don’t judge it, please. It’s very rude. And why should it matter what age likes it? Anyone can like a book/movie…I know plenty of older people that are obsessed with the book. And, don’t judge teenagers. We know good books. I, for example, am about to read Pride and Prejudice, and I am partly through Wuthering Heights. I plan to buy more classics.
    Twilight, to me, is amazing.
