ABC’s “Betty” is moving to Wednesdays at 10 p.m., most likely when it returns from its holiday hiatus in January.
It will be taking over the slot most recently held by “Eastwick.”
Back in 2006, ABC shifted “Betty” from a planned Friday night series debut to high-profile Thursdays after critics loved the pilot. The network down-shifted the show to Fridays this fall, permanently, once ratings fell off. Adding “Betty” could make Wednesday an all-comedy lineup with “The Middle,” “Modern Family” and “Cougar Town”.
The network isn’t confirming the schedule change yet.
