Yay Dunst, Nay Morbius

The latest and greatest movie news was dished out from The New York Post when they revealed the skinny on Spider-Man 4. Being able to squeeze out a couple of answers from producer Todd Black, a little more information came out with who would be back on set.

Dunst is back! ..I'm not surprised either

Kirsten Dunst, or better known as Mary Jane Watson from all three previous Spider-Man movies, is slated back to be the red headed love interest of Peter Parker. However, despite previous reports that we’ve made on this site about bad guy Morbius being the next foe for the web slinging crusader, thus is not the case.

“We’re just coming up with who the villain’s going to be now. We’ll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it’ll be a big part of New York.”

Rumors are already swirling about on the possible villain. Kraven the Hunter, a bloodthirsty hunter determined to defeat Spider-Man in order to cement the title as greatest hunter in the world is first on fan boy’s lips. Another possibility circling about is The Scorpion, being scientifically spruced up in order to track down and defeat Spider-Man, among many others.

Rumor has it that originally Morbius was to be the final Villain that Blade was to face in that trilogy. This idea eventually got nixed by Marvel and Marv Wolfman as Marv wouldn’t sing off on the character rights. Personally I don’t like this as a villain for Spider-Man in the movies. I’d much rather see Kraven the Hunter, or a combination of the Vulture and the Rhino (which has to be in bad-ass battle suit like in the Ultimate Spider-Man series).
